The screw tip valve is one of the key components in the molding process. The ever-widening range of both materials and processes faced by injection moulders, along with the need for increased quality and productivity, makes screw tip valve function Even more of a critical concern.

EN-41B :

A good high strength hardened and nitrided Alloy steel which is machined, and ground dimensionally, than nitride hardened for 72 hours for good and general purpose plastic use.

H-13 Tool Steel

A good high strength pre-hardened tool steel which is machined, thruhardened, and ground dimensionally, then nitride hardened for 72 hours for better wear resistance. H-13 is tough and can handle pressure and torque.

D-2 Tool Steel

A high carbon/high chrome tool steel with good wear resistance, but low on torque strength.D-2 should only be used with 4-piece designs where the stud is manufactured from 4140, H-13 or another high torque steel.

CPM®-9V Tool Steel

A new generation tool steel with a high percentage of vanadium carbide developed for high wear (abrasive) applications. It resists wear from abrasive fillers in resin. (Construction:Carbon 1.8%, Manganese 0.50%, Silicon 0.9%, Chromium 5.25%, Molybdenum 1.3%,Vanadium 9.0%.)

CPM®-M4 Tool Steel

Crucible’s CPM®-M4 is a high vanadium, special purpose, high speed steel exhibiting better wear resistance and toughness than D-2 or CPM®-9V. CPM®-M4 has a hardness rating of 64.0. (Construction: Carbon 1.42%, Chromium 4.0%, Vanadium 4.0%, Tungsten 5.5%, Molybdenum 5.25%.)
